What I've done in 2008

It's 1 wk into 2009 now. I spent the countdown in Istanbul. In fact, I counted down like 3 times due to the different time zones.

First was of cos, to Singapore timing of GMT +8 than to Istanbul of GMT +2 and an hour later, together with the rest of the crew, we watched UK countdown of GMT +1.

Amazing isnt it? lOlx

I look back at 2008 and I'm glad to say that I've fulfilled certain things that I've always wanted to.

First of all, I brought my parents to BKK to visit my sister who was working there back then. Its been 11 yrs since my family had a overseas holiday together and its something that I've always hoped for.

We went to Baiyoke Sky for dinner and took the revolving ride after dinner.

We stayed in my sister's service apartment and it was an enjoyable trip for us though its only a mere few days but its quality tat counts isnt it?

Prior to the BKK trip, I brought my parents to HK. I gave them the choice of HK or Taipei and they chose HK. Afterall, our last trip was also to HK but that was in 1997.

HK is a place whereby im very familiar with besides Taipei. We stayed in Kowloon Hotel but as there werent rooms available for us and it aint sensible for me to get 2 rooms, therefore I booked a suite next door in YMCA hotel.

Yes, I even brought my folks to Disneyland!
Though the entire trip cost me ard 5k for 3 of us but I feel its worth it. It has always been a secret wish in a corner of my heart to bring my folks for a holiday. Even though they wanted to eat simply and stay in budget hotel but i demand the best for them. We had almost every meal in restaurants other than the usual cha chan ting.
You can choose ur husband but never your parents and they've slog so many yrs for me so I guess its due time for me to take care of them.
I've always enjoyed travelling and I always thank God for allowing me to land into my current job.
The few places that lasted a memory of me are as follows...
First up is New York.
Thats the infamous big M&Ms store with all kinds of apparels, toys etc in M&Ms form.

New York City is a place I've always wanted to visit. Watching it in Sex & the City jus makes this place so desirable and finally I step my feet in there. I reali fell in love with this city and certainly want to go there again!
Another part of States was LA.
I visited Universal Studios and was my virgin trip. Was amazed by the works of the movie scenes and was introduced to how certain dangerous acts was being developed.
And jus a day before my trip to Universal Studios, I made my very virgin trip to Disneyland!
It was a memorable experience for me even till today.

Especially it was drizzling initially but we were still persistent on going.
Next was Japan. I was never rostered Japan flts due to the substantial no of Japanese crew. I managed to change for a Tokyo flt and finally i was able to go to Harajuku n Shinjuku!!
The Japanese were very creative in their dressing and I specially LOVE Japanese food!!

My tokyo flt goes up to LA as well and I went to the Six Flags Magic Mountain. Its an amusement theme park and I had my virgin ride up a most exciting ride call 'X2'. Its a 360 degree ride n i literally scream my lungs out and my heart almost fall out! Scary...!
Another flt i was never rostered on was Manchester so as I was dying to visit Anfield and Old Trafford, so im glad i had the opportunity to go Anfield as luckily some ppl has plans to visit this place too!!
A routine tat the soccer players does before stepping into the soccer field is to tap their logo.

The crest of "You'll never walk alone''.
London, UK is a place I've been there a few times but I finally went to c the changing of guards at Buckingham Palace.
I find the soldiers with such 'hair, head or hat' looks so cute!
Dun u tink so? I cant c their faces at all!

Also, I also finally saw the most expensive stones ever and tats the Stonehenge. I took a tube, changed a train n took a bus in to the Stonehenge, ALONE!!! Although some ppl may tink its lonely but i find tat its a gd experience to travel out alone sometimes.
Over at South Africa, Johannesburg, another place tat I was never rostered on, I fed a giraffe!

And i hug a little cub!!

By chance, I was lucky that someone offered me a Rome for my HK-SFO.
Thus, I manage to make a wish at Trevi Fountain which was said to make wishes come true!! So, we shall c... hahahaha

Also, I made a trip to Montevarchi which is where the Prada factory outlet was and I bought my first Miu Miu as well as 2 prada bags at a big discount price compared to Singapore. =)
Again at South Africa, it was Cape Town, another place I've been dying to go cos its simply a too beautiful place to visit.

I was also lucky tat someone gave me this flt for my Maldives! Another good deal! keke..
We visited Cape of Good Hope and its a reali beautiful scenery tat is so hard to describe in words.

We went to visit a winery as well and did some wine tasting as well!!
I also changed to my favourite batchgal's flt to Amsterdam whereby we did hardcore sightseeing.
Here's the sex museum which is obvious from this ultra big penis.

And I went to my first Madam Tussads too.

Though I've been to Amsterdam so many times but that is definitely a trip I will rber.

I was lucky to get rostered on Athens, the twice weekly flt in the beginning of the year.

Went to Acropolis and though im not exactly fascinated by this country but I made new friends from tat flt. Adna and Bryan whom we still keep in touch and send each other roster.

Everywhere in Greece looks almost like this in terms of the sculptures so tat explains y im not so impressed by this country.
But, by chance, I went partying with Bryan. Yes, partying in Greece!!
It was by pure coincidence tat we found out both of us are thirsty drinkers. lOlx

And we somehow mixed with this group with Greek. An unique experience too..
In this new yr, I hope to go to more of Japan, Moscow and Nanjing. That will complete all the destinations tat I wana go to.
No more setting of New Yr resolutions cos they are the same for me every yr. hahaha
So, i jus hope to live life as it is. To be happy and healthy. =)
