Stonehenge finally!!

I had a pretty eventful today.

Woke up early in the morning at 8am (London Time GMT +0) to start my day.

Had plan to visit the Stonehenge since it's a distinctive historic artefact. However, its out of London therefore to travel there aint easy (and cheap).

As usual, I bought the one day travel underground ticket a.k.a your friendly mrt EZ Link. London calls it 'Underground' thou and instead of train, they call it 'Tube' here.

Only today i realise that it cost 6.80 pounds during peak hour before 9.30am as I reached there at 9am. After 9.30am will cost 5.30 pounds. Needless to say, I waited that half an hr just to save that 1.50 pounds which is SGD 4.50!!

Let me sumarise the cost of travelling to the Stonehenge and you will be shocked at how expensive the transportation in London is!!

1 day Underground ticket - £5.30
Return train ticket to Sailsbury - £26.80
Return bus ticket to Stonehenge from Sailbury - £7.50
Entrance to Stonehenge - £6.50

Total - £46.10

This is equivilant to approx SGD 133!!! I delare that those are the most expensive stones that I've ever seen!!!

-___-'''

As the term Stonehenge reveals, its basically to see stones. I took lotsa pics since I travelled all the way there. The journey took more than 2 hours and I went all by myself!!
I think I'm really adventurous. Hahaha

Nevertheless, the visit was worth it.

But sad to say, I should have set off my journey earlier so that I can venture into other areas further from Sailsbury. Wad a waste. =(

As its winter now, the sun sets at about 4pm and shops closes by 5pm. There aint much things i can do or explore except to walk around the city centre of Sailsbury.

However, another interesting thing i did was, I asked around what I can visit at 5pm and the lady at the tourist information counter suggested I go to St Mary's Cathedral cos it closes at 6.30pm.

Therefore, I asked around for directions and following the crowd walking in Sailsbury Cathedral, I asked the priest inside where St Mary's Cathedral is only to realise that I am in it already!! lOlzz

The lady which I suspect is the nun there told me that there will be a service starting soon and asked me if i will be interested to sit in and I gladly accepted it!!

Yeah..

I ATTENDED A SERVICE IN LONDON!!!

lOlxx

Very interesting experience indeed as I've never attended a catholic service before and my very first was done in London!! wow!!! =)

Went back to London after the service and proceed back to Oxford Street jus to change the size of the blue dress i bought the day before.

Refusing to go back hotel after Oxford, I proceed to explore Notting Hill Gate since I need to change tube back to Circle Line but only to realise nothing is there.

Therefore, I went back to Bayswater, the place Janet meimei brought me to have duck. Though its my second time there, the feeling was indeed so different. It definitely feels extremely good when u have a fren with you overseas. This time round, though its the same place but different feeling.

Had a craving for the local famous Fish & Chips but all the bars stop serving food at 9pm. Damnzz.. Therefore, no choice have to go for Chinese food. Basically, Bayswater is flooded with quite a few Chinese restaurants.

After 2 days in London alone, I have more or less figured out how to take the extremely confusing underground line. hehezz

Tomorrow checking out and going back to Singapore!! As much as I miss home, I dread the flight back as I had a pretty lousy flt on my way here and the thought of working with the same people dreads me.

Which is why, I so love and hate my job!! Damnzz

Nevertheless, I've yet to see the changing of guards at Buckingham Palace. I still cannot decide if I should wake up earlier to go for it as I will just be in time to come back and prepare for flight back.

Should I or should i not???

Haizzz

=(
