Korean BBQ~

Ytd, i took out my skipping rope and skipped 500 times!! But i took intervals in between each 100 times. Wanted to skip 2000 times like wad Blackberry did but its so tiring!! lOlxx.. Will try to increase more slowly..

But, my 500 times of skipping went down the drain in the night...

All bcos of this...

Jang Shou Korean Charcoal BBQ @ Colours of Bay, Esplanade. Just behind Thai Express...

I met up for dinner to catch up with an old fren of mine whom I meet only once awhile mainly bcos he has got his duties as a husband and father to fulfil so seldom has the time to catch up with frens also.

Wanted to go to Indulgz @ Tan Quee Lan St, as raved by Xiaxue in her blog but sad to say, it is closed on Mon so he suggested this place instead.

Let's call him BBQ boy then.

BBQ boy was held up in a meeting at work thus was late for 45 mins. Alrighty, missy_a admits tat she isnt very punctual at times either (EXCEPT FOR WORK) so she was 15 mins late but still, waited half an hour for BBQ boy.

She went to wait at the restaurant first and browse through the menu to see wad she wants to eat. hahaha... =p

The menu was nicely done up with a good amount of pictures, chinese/english/korean words. Unlike the one i saw in Korea tat has no pictures n limited broken english!! -__-

Surprisingly, they do not have Ginseng Chicken Soup which i seriously wonder why considering the fact tat its a Korean must have dish.

Here's how the place looks like. Very neat n tidy. Most of the staff speaks korean and chinese cos they are from China. Yupz.. apparently, alot of Chinese speaks Korean. I've seen plenty of that in Korea too!!

After BBQ boy finally arrives, we placed our order for food. Luckily they have my favourite seafood pancake on menu. (but i forgot to take pics of tat!!)

We ordered Korean Shoju to try, after recommendation by the waiter. The white case is to keep the bottle icy cold. Taste simliar to Japanese Sake but it has a higher alcohol content and taste sweeter too. Priced @ $25 a bottle which I tink is a little expensive...

As per each Korean meal comes with lotsa side dishes or wad u call as appetisizers?? As usual, some will be left untouched or some will be completely finished!!

Dun you find the beef meat looks exceptionally juicy??? The waiter barbeques for us and cuts the big piece of meat into smaller pieces before serving to us. It taste really good. =)
We had pork with honey as well but too engrossed with eating so i forgot to take...

They do not have much noodle/rice dishes on menu and i was contemplating between this and bi bim bap but chose this instead cos it sounds really unique!! Cold noodles with hot sauce and the noodles is REALLY cold in ice!!! Has got some peanuts and half an egg as well as sliced cucumber.
We spilt 1 serving into 2 but this half portion still looks as huge!! Definitely a unique taste but not something tat i will order again. Just an experience will do. =)

Dinner doesnt seems very complete and satisfying or rather FULL~ So, BBQ boy suggested ordering another meat so we went ahead and ordered chicken meat this time. This taste pretty normal, like tat of ur friendly Seoul Garden except tat the cut is bigger n thicker.
However, with the price tage of tink $25-$30, i dun tink its worth it at all. The bill for the dinner came up to about $170 which i tink is too ex but BBQ boy kindly made the payment as a treat for me since we've not catched up for so long and i've finally graduated from my dream school??? lOlxx =p
Since it was only 9pm+, we decided to go ahead for a drink before heading back home. Harrys Bar is exceptionally quiet last nite so i suggested Balaclava instead since its like 1000 yrs ago since i went and indeed, it underwent some reno and it certainly looks so different from last time!!
We ordered a beer each, courtesy of BBQ boy again and had a nice chat before we went off in our individual cars back home.
These days, my car collected quite alot of dust. Mainly bcos i din send my car to car wash cos each wash cost $6 each and i try to eat cheap these days.
Another reason is bcos, I seldom go out now and if i do, i go drinking at nite which obviously i dun drink n drive as much as before.
Else, i spend my time sleeping at home.
So, tat explains the reason y my car has collected a thick layer of dust now.
1 1/2 day more to the end of my leave. sObzz.. I need more leave...!! So many ppl tat i wana catch up with!! =(
GTG now.. Meeting a fren who jus came back from overseas and currently on leave now too..!! Off to slack...!!
Adios~!
