Fruitful Tuesday!!

I had an eventful day today n a very fruitful one!!

First of all, we had a visit to a nursing home and got to interact with the old folks there. I've always wanted to do volunteer work but din reali knw how to go abt doing it. I've sent emails to some homes/organisations to sign up as a volunteer ages ago but NO reply at all and i reali wonder y.

Its my first time to a nursing home n i mus say it is very fulfilling!! Quite a number of the old folks are wheelchair bounded and the rest requires walking stick to walk. Sad to say, i din manage to c any one of them who is able to walk on their own without any aid. :(

We help to push them to have lunch and to feed them as well.

The old folks are really happy to see visitors there and appreciates it very much when someone sits down n chat with them. It reali brightens up their day!!

Therefore, i guess i will be joining the volunteer team and do more of such visits to the homes!! But, more of children i guess. It has always been my wish to be a volunteer at orphanage!!

We learnt how to handle wheelchair bounded people as well. Its certainly not an easy task to carry them out from the wheelchair!! Really takes alot of technique to do so!!

It is really heartwarming to interact with these old folks. Most of them do have children but are put into the home so as to have ppl taking care of them as well as talking to them.

Some others are in the home for pyshiotherapy due to stroke before so need to undergo therapy to recover slowly.

Communicating with elderly reali aint easy. Most of them are really old and dun have any teeth left thus when they talk, it isnt really clear and most of the time, we do not quite understand wad they are tryin to say but all i know is tat, every1 of them has a story behind them which they reali hope tat someone will sit down n listen to them..

Nonetheless, the session ended in the afternoon and we proceed back to class for an interesting Japanese culture talk.

As u all know, i love japanese food and its reali an eye opener for me to be able to learn more abt the japanese culture.

Its really amazing to know the cross culture between japan n singapore!! Sometimes, i feel tat jus training alone, i'm already so in love with this job but im certain tat i will definitely love the real job when i graduate!!

Not onli do i get to c the world but also experience and learn more abt the different cultures. It is indeed a real valuable experience and i feel so fortunate to be accepted into this job!!

Btw, someting is wrong with 1 of my wheels!! Last sat, the salesmen whom i bought the car cleaning stuff from told me tat my left rear wheel is inflated and i shld get it pump immediately. Today, i notice tat it is inflated AGAIN!!

Therefore, i went to the petrol kiosk to pump up air again. Oh my.. this is certainly such a guy job but i learnt to do it myself!! Tats the penalty for not having a bf beside you who can help u with all this!!

Anyway, i know how to pump petrol myself too!!

But, i've yet to learn how to change a wheel tyre!! lOlx

I wondered wads wrong with my wheel so called up a fren who told me tat most probably i run thru a nail which explains why my wheel gets inflated again and im able to get it repaired at abt $10.

Close shave..

Anyway, I'm going for my second servicing soon which i've delayed for 1200km already!! haha

So you c, in a day, i visited a nursing home for the elderly, learnt abt the japanese culture as well as pumping air into wheel tyre!! Dont u agree tat its a Fruitful Tuesday indeed?? Heezz

(P/S: I have a date with hamster next Tuesday for some ice-cream waffle!! Cos its 50% offfffff!!!)
